This pension is just paradise. It is in a very nice location by the woods, it is a family business and you can feel it. Very friendly and helpful service. The breakfast is the best I have had in Japan. Spotless clean room, comfortable beds, reasonable size of the room. I definately recommend this place. Restaurants in walking distance.

My husband and I loved our stay at Skala Inn. The owners and the entire staff were wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay worth it. The breakfast is lovely, there are 3 shuttle buses for the ski lifts all within a 5 min walk from the Inn. And plenty of restaurants and bars within a 15 minute walk. You’re able to do laundry on-site & they have a great set-up for storing skis & snowboards. The hospitality was top notch and we would stay here again for sure!

First review I've ever written, Skala in and the people who own and run it are the most amazing people I've ever met. Their kindness and generosity was outstanding. Every morning you are welcomed with fresh baked goods and a freshly cooked meal. The common area is always clean and they always greet you with a smile. The rooms are always kept clean and it's in amazing location on a 10min walk to Echo land filled with countless places to eat and drink. Anyone planning a holiday to Hakuba has to stay at Skala in for the best experience.
