Phoenix Copenhagen

This is a nice, older hotel in central Copenhagen. The rooms are on the small side as was the style when it was built. Our room was nicely furnished and maintained. The breakfast was excellent. The bar is well appointed and stocked. The central location allows for easy access to shops, restaurants, and tourist sites. The staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Phoenix.

I had a remarkable stay here in July 2024 for the jazz festival. The man at the front desk was warm, polite, and accommodating. It was one of my most memorable hotel stays in terms of customer service—especially at a time when many hotels are losing that touch. When I had an issue, it was resolved promptly. You don’t get that kind of experience anymore. I just wanted to acknowledge how helpful and kind the staff was. My room was spacious, and the weather outside did not require AC.

The hotel is in a great location, central to transit, shopping, sight-seeing, and restaurants. The rooms were comfortable. The staff were very kind and accommodating. I agree with other comments, though. The shower/tub is high and it made us worry to get out (I wondered out loud how many injuries they get annually). We also didn't have much room to unpack during our stay. If space is the issue, I'd rather have the option to have a dresser rather than a desk and chair. The breakfast isn't worth it, truly. It's like a continental breakfast at Holiday Inn, but with more types of bread and a few more fruits. They need to step it up.
