Piattelli Wine Resort

It is a long drives but from the nearest airport! However, the Piattelli Wine Resort is a wonderful oasis among the vineyards of Cafayate. The food, service and friendliness of the staff were all very good. It is a great place to use as a base to visit the other wineries in the area.

Overall, Piatelli is a great wine resort for those looking to relax and enjoy fine food and wine. It offers a peaceful setting with excellent amenities, though there are a few areas that could be improved. Pros: - The welcome was exceptional. From the moment we arrived at the gate to the room, we felt truly taken care of, with a lovely welcome bottle of wine. - The complimentary wine and chocolate tasting was a wonderful touch and a great introduction to the estate’s offerings. - The facilities are quite recent, only two years old, so everything felt modern and well-maintained. - The rooms are spacious and feature a rooftop with stunning views—perfect for relaxing at night. - Breakfast was outstanding, with French-style croissants that were almost as good as those in France, alongside delicious brioche and a wide selection of juices, yoghurts, and à la carte options. - Lunch and dinner were also excellent, with fresh vegetables and top-quality meats. - The spa was a highlight: modern, with great service, and affordable prices. Drawbacks: - The property is owned by an American couple, but unfortunately, only a few staff members spoke English, which could be challenging for non-Spanish speakers. - Being located on a winery estate, expect wildlife around, such as spiders, scorpions, and frogs. We encountered them daily in our room or nearby, which might be off-putting for some. - There was no complimentary water provided in the room, which is a small but surprising oversight for a hotel of this standing. - The restaurant lacked a waiting area, which led to an uncomfortable situation where we were cut in line by rude guests while we were patiently waiting to be seated. - The chocolate cake nemesis for dessert was a letdown—it didn’t live up to expectations. - The gym could use some improvement: more equipment, weights, and properly inflated balls would make it much better. - The takeaway breakfast was disappointing compared to the buffet. We weren’t offered fresh juice, and when we asked for water, they initially tried to charge us, which felt unprofessional. Overall, Piatelli offers a relaxing and enjoyable stay with great food, wine, and a beautiful environment, but a few service-related improvements would elevate the experience.

I stayed here for one night (26/02/25). I was robbed. Cash was taken from my purse from my room. It has been a week now, and the staff have not been useful, and have ignored my requests to review security footage or my room. I cannot in good faith recommend this establishment based on the lack of care for us regarding this serious security issue.
