Piazzetta Diefenbach

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews of Piazzetta Diefenbach. Our experience was outstanding. The location couldn’t be more perfect—right across the street from the taxi drop-off point from the port and the bus stop, with just a short walk to the main piazzetta. The hotel itself is beautiful, with clean, well-appointed rooms. We were fortunate to have a stunning view of the water. A special mention to Satsuki, the warm and welcoming hotel staff member who checked us in. She not only gave us a thorough map overview with recommendations for key sights but also treated us to fresh lemonade while we waited for our room (which was ready within 15 minutes, even though we arrived early). Breakfast was another highlight—fresh, simple, and everything you need. The cappuccino came with a lovely little sun design, which added a charming touch. We also enjoyed our breakfast on the balcony with a view overlooking the island and the water. Although we only stayed one night, we’re eager to return for a longer stay in the future!

Amazing location in the heart of capri, with direct access to taxis, buses, and a walk directly into the main square just a few meters away. Rooms are lovely and the windows block any and all noise from busy capri below. Checking in on 9/19/24 we had likely the most helpful check in experience I’ve ever had, with detailed information on the best things to do all around the island and wonderful suggestions for dinner. Lovely and attentive staff.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for one night, and it was a terrible experience from start to finish. First, the shower water was cold, making it impossible to have a comfortable shower. The cleanliness of the hotel was appalling, with dirt and bugs everywhere. We even found bugs in our room, which was extremely unsettling. When we informed the staff about the issue, they showed no concern and simply suggested we visit a pharmacy to buy mosquito repellent. This was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Additionally, the staff were unhelpful and uncommunicative, showing no interest in addressing our concerns or making our stay more comfortable. They barely spoke any English, making it even more difficult to get any assistance. To top it all off, the breakfast was terrible and barely edible. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. This was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
