Recently returned from a week’s stay and am very happy with my experience at the piccolo hotel. The hotel was modern, clean and very relaxing. All of the staff were amazing, from the receptionists to the waiting staff and entertainment team, all of them were very friendly and always happy to help. The pool area and all inclusive buffet were highlights for me. The hotel is also only a short walk away from the beach and restaurants at Porto Ottiolu which was very convenient. Overall a great experience for my first time in Sardinia and would definitely recommend!
Possibly the most fun I’ve ever had in a hotel on holiday, striking the perfect balance between tranquil and tantalising fun! A place shrouded in beautiful countryside but made brilliant by the wonderful staff. Every aspect of the Piccolo hotel is excellent. The pool and leisure facilities are the perfect size and the pool is always the perfect temperature! The bar is incredibly well stocked and manned by lovely attentive staff, serving cocktails of the day, fresh pastries, snacks and traditional drinks such as Myrtle and Limoncello! Live sport and a lively atmosphere is always present. Breakfast, lunch and supper are incredibly fresh, served warm and in a lovely enclosed indoor or outdoor restaurant, in an incredibly inclusive environment. The rooms are immaculate with very effective air conditioning pristine toilet facilities, and most of all one of the best views over the port, especially at night, with views of the lights sprawling over the bay. But more so than the brilliant facilities are the incredible staff! Everyone, from the bar and restaurant staff, pool and leisure staff, reception staff, hospitality and tour staff are excellent! But most of all Antonella, Flo and Bob, the entertainment staff, truly made my trip. They are some of the loveliest people I have ever met. Hosting bingo, karaoke, yoga, quizzes and outstanding live music from Antonella, were woven into the trip with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, involving all of the people staying at the hotel and brightening up the entire stay. Truly, my time at the Piccolo hotel and indeed Sardinia was made by Bob, Flo and Antonella and the rest of the staff! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You’ll check out but you won’t ever want to leave! And to all the staff! Thank you and all the best! I cannot recommend this hotel any more!
From the moment we arrived to the morning we left, nothing was too much for the staff of this lovely little hotel. Situated a short walk from the harbour area of Porto Ottiolu, the Piccolo Hotel is a lovely, peaceful little haven. The rooms are spacious and well presented with excellent air-conditioning which was much needed as the temperatures soared during our stay. Daily buffet style breakfast lunch and dinner was plentiful and tasty, drinks at the bar included a daily cocktail.(we were on an inclusive package) However, we can highly recommend the upgraded paid for cocktails - the mixologists were fabulous! Personal thanks to Greta, Valeria, and Antonio on the bar and Rocco, Heena, Annie, and Aurora in the restaurant, all the staff were fantastic but we couldn't remember everyone's names! For those who want a little variation in their dining experience, we can recommend heading into Porto Ottiolu for a selection of fantastic restaurants, we spoke to other holidaymakers who had also ventured out. The daily pool experience did not involve the usual mad dash for a longer, and we spent most of our time soaking up the sunshine and cooling down in the pool. There are options to book day trips with the ever helpful Francesco, you can find him in the reception area, we opted last minute for the Island of Tavolara, be aware that in peak season the boats are jam packed, nevertheless, we enjoyed the time spent on the beach once we arrived. Beware of the extortionate prices for sun beds and beware of the pigs! The hotel provides a daily shuttle bus service to two local beaches one of which requires reservations for sun loungers, to be honest,do as the Italians do and take a towel find a spot and enjoy the beautiful beaches free of charge. During our stay I had a last-minute online interview, and would like to personally thank both Maria Francesco on reception and Francesco the tour manager for their assistance, the WiFi coverage at the hotel is intermittent at times they helped arrange a space for me. August tends to be peak holiday time for Italy and we were pleased to see a good mix of Italian and other international countries enjoying the sun. Daily entertainment was inclusive and fun, Floriano, Antonella, Laura, Francesco and Enrico thank you for making our stay so memorable, because the hotel is smaller, this events team have to work so much harder. Flo, next visit we will definitely come on your morning beach walks! We don't usually go back to the same place to holiday, but Hotel Piccolo definitely made us feel welcomed and even put up with my dreadful Italian pronunciation! Ciao until we meet again, grazie mille❤️
