Pirika Rera Hotel

We had such a lovely time at the hotel that I was so tempted to gatekeep and hide this cosy hotel for our private use! Location wise, it wasn’t in the most exiting place, in that it’s more local than the usual tourists town with many souvenir shops and all, but it was near enough to the station and we had a very pleasant ~1km stroll in the winter with the sun up. We saw a COOP nearby, so if you like to visit supermarkets like us, you’ll be excited but really, you wouldn’t even feel like leaving the hotel once you enter. There are only 6 suites in the hotel, so it was cozy and the service very warm. The onsen was the most lovely ever, direct from source and undiluted. The food was also amazing - it’s the best we’ve eaten this trip, despite now being our 12th day in Japan. I simply cannot recommend the dinner and breakfast enough. It’s such a pleasant surprise to find a place that’s genuinely 5 stars in all aspects, and I was so glad to still be able to enjoy such as pleasant stay in Japan with all the over tourism everywhere else. This, is what reminded me of why I love japan. ❤️❤️❤️

Room is little dated, in room bath is small and no view, the hotel lobby is dated, large private bath need to be reserved but only once during the stay … doesn’t sound exciting right? However we really enjoyed our stay. Hot spring mineral is one of a kind. Never experienced the texture and the color of the water. It really gives you the deep relaxation you are looking for! Oh and the dining experience was really noteworthy. Dinner option was French it Japanese. We were very happy with the choice. Chef prepared wonderful dinner in front of us using locally sourced ingredients. One of the best food experience to remember. Breakfast is wonderful too. My favorite Salmon roe Ikura was generously poured over on my bowel. It was heavenly moment. Lol I had lymph drainage massage at the spa room. The therapist was very skilled. Best to book early as they have only 6 rooms. You don’t get to chose the type of the room. (Japanese western or western style room )

This is an inn I've always wanted to visit. It was just as rumored! From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the polite and friendly service, and the hot spring water was straight from the source. The room was clean, and the quality of the food exceeded my expectations. I'm not sure how many inns you can find where you can enjoy such well-made meals. It was an unforgettable stay that made me think, "I'm glad I came." For dinner, we had a Japanese kaiseki dinner, and the chef carefully explained each dish, and his enthusiasm was clearly conveyed. I've stayed in many inns and hotels, but this is the first time I've experienced such passion for food. I also enjoyed using the private bath, which was very comfortable.
