Platani Hotel

Bolsena is an ancient town on the lake that has the same name, around 100 kms north of Rome. This tiny hotel is located exactly in front of the old town with a view towards it & its ancient castle. Kind people, acceptable prices, convenient parking lot nearby. For once,not a shabby hotel but a very well kept structure. Absolutely recommendable.

Great location between the main part of town and the lakefront. An easy and lovely walk to the lake along a tree lined street. The hotel didn't seem to have many guests and we got a lot of attention to our needs. The room was very clean and comfortable. Good linens! We had the lovely restaurant to ourselves for both dinner and breakfast and everyone in our group of 5 was very pleased with their choices. Only one problem...the bathroom towel warmer couldn't be turned off and it heated the entire room to an uncomfortable level. We asked for help to turn it off but the night staff couldn't figure it out. But i would stay here again without question.

Very negative experience at the restaurant of this establishment. Very rude staff, passing comments about guests. We had a misunderstanding with the management and the Manager/owner chose to address this in front of the whole group of people, rather than settle the matter in private. The waiters continued to pass comments on this matter throughout the meal. Portions were disgraceful.
