To begin, my fiancé and I are eagerly anticipating our anniversary celebration at Grand Riviera Princess this December. We selected this resort after thorough research and reading reviews, and were especially drawn to the adults-only section area. Although communication has been somewhat limited concerning transportation and room preferences, we remain optimistic about the experience. The resort’s romantic dinner packages and anniversary amenities sound very promising. We would greatly appreciate any special attention to make our celebration memorable, particularly regarding room location and views. *We will update this review post-stay to share our experience.* Viva Mexico!!
Overall: value for your money Pros: Large property with seemingly endless number of swimming pools; Beautiful beach area; Staff are well trained and attentive; Food selection excellent. Cons: Adult entertainment lacking; Evening shows of amateur quality; Evening entertainment ends by 11 pm; Prices at onsite stores astronomically marked up (e.g., package of Skittles US$12.00); Food at Italian restaurant of poor quality; Platinum club option of no real value (e.g., no butler service, in room mini bar contains 3 sodas and zero food items, room service "demand" tips); Shuttle service is inadequate and often delayed, especially during evening/night hours; Facilities lack adequate and regular maintenance; Beach area lacks adequate seating; Wifi, especially in rooms is poor and inconsistent (technically free, but requires added cost for reasonable wifi)
We have visited this resort six times over the last 10 years, but sadly, our most recent visit was a huge disappointment. The site has become unclean and noticeably degraded, with the rooms clearly showing their age and lack of maintenance. To make matters worse, we came as a group of 20 people and were shocked to find that we were forced to purchase multiple bottles of wine at each restaurant we reserved, even though this was never the case in our previous visits. This policy felt exploitative and left a bad impression on everyone in our group. Adding insult to injury, the price has doubled compared to our previous stays, yet the quality and service have significantly declined. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced us—and the rest of our group—not to return. It's truly sad to see how much this place has deteriorated over the years. We cannot recommend it anymore.
