Plawsworth Hall Serviced Cottages and Apartments

We stayed at the cottages in June 2025 as an alternative to our usual hotel in Durham. Pricing was very competitive. Welcome from Howard and the team superb. The apartment we reserved was clean, comfortable and with all the modern amenities you could want for a holiday break. The location is superb with panoramic views across the local countryside, a decent pub within walking distance, and access to Durham, Newcastle, and Sunderland on the doorstep. We are sold and will stay there whenever visiting the area. Definitely recommend as a five star experience.

The place is absolutely amazing. This will be my go to place whenever I come up north. I was curious when I read reviews of this place in all the different travel websites. Can a place get so many excellent reviews? When we got here, we found out for ourselves.. Everything is perfect, from the views, the facilities, the equipment provided and the place.. All new and clean and cheery... gives very good vibes the minute we drove in to the compound.

We had a problem with our home and needed accommodation quickly which would allow us to be self reliant for an unspecified amount of time and by chance we found this amazing place and were so glad we did . It is an absolute gem, a beautiful idyll in the heart of Durham’s lush and green countryside. The buildings are beautifully designed with everything you need for a short or long term stay . Immaculate and serviced , situated with beautiful open views of the countryside from your french doors. Ample parking and Howard and Harry are lovely and really helpful. The place was just so serene and peaceful , i ended up waking up early just to sit outside and watch the sunrise over the beautiful view from our window . We felt very at home and safe and loved every minute . It made what was a time of stress into something so much happier and peaceful. For the quality, comfort and amenities the price was exceptionally good too , which was a plus if like us you were looking at staying for quite a while . We can’t recommend it enough . If you need somewhere exceptional and genuinely peaceful to stay in Durham this is it.
