Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort

Great place with friendly and helpful staff. Right on the beach. It's not a high-end polished marble place but super comfortable. If you enjoy interacting with the locals, it's a perfect place to go and it is a great place to stay with, or without kids. As with anywhere in PV, you don't have to be good with spanish, but any effort on your part is appreciated. It's within easy walking distance of cabs and busses. A bank and oxxo are close as is La Playa (liquor store). It's about a half hour walk, mostly along the beach, to the malecon and going the other way the "La Isla Shopping Village " which also has a movie theatre is also in walking distance. Pedro at Mr Solutions is a half block away from the front door, very knowledgeable about PV, tours available and has good prices. He will also come in to work early so he can ensure you get to where you need to be. Going as far as walking you or getting you a cab and ensuring the driver knows exactly where to go.

Overall the experience and stay was worth the price point. We did have 2 rather large bugs in our suite that we had to kill. That was a first for us in a resort. The food on site was rather bland but the morning coffee was some of the best coffee I’ve had. “Chada”; one of the pool attendants took great care of our party all week ensuring we had drinks and bites to eat by the pool the whole time. The drinks were not super tasty but the views at sky lounge made up for that. Overall a positive experience.

The service was great, and people are friendly and helpful. The room was big and spacious. This was a nice resort for the price. I loved the swim up bar. However, the food was not good. The buffet was mediocre. Even the restaurant where you need reservations was not great. You can tell they really tried, though. The food was just bland. Most of the time, we went off the premises to get food somewhere else. They do have different activities at night, but they really cater to the locals here. Karaoke and shows are all in Spanish, so it makes it hard to understand. Price is good, but you get what you paid for.
