Found this online and used it as an alternative to staying in York. Such a good choice. Room was a double with loads of space and gorgeous furnishings. Parking is free, and it is only a 20 minute drive from the Rawcliffe Bar park and ride (£7.80 for 2x return trip on the number 2 bus to the centre of York). We enjoyed dinner 1 night and the included breakfast both mornings off our stay and all was delicious. Service was also friendly and efficient. A lovely place to stay in rural Yorkshire.
This is a wonderful country pub and hotel that we visited for a long weekend. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was amazing. We stayed in a double room which was of a very high quality. We had a very cumphy bed, a great shower and all the usual comfort items you would expect of a country hotel. I must add that the decor was also amazing and so well put together. Moving on to the food, I had the most exceptional lamb that I have ever eaten. Everything on the plate was cooked to perfection and the service was just impeccable. This is definitely somewhere that we would like to revisit, if only to try everything else on the menu. Thanks for an amazing stay!
