Podere Castel Merlo Resort

Very impressive and spacious castle-winery-hotel-restaurant located near Franciacorta in the midst of their own vineyards. The rooms are amazing, the wines really nice!! (You should definitely taste the red reserva and the sparklig rosé) and food as well, only the wifi was nowhere to find... The personnel under the leadership of Angello compensated that overly though! Grazie mille for a memorable stay!

I stayed at this lovely winery that also runs as a small boutique hotel, and it was a unique and enjoyable experience. There are only a handful of rooms, which adds to the quiet and exclusive atmosphere. The rooms themselves are very large, spacious, and extremely clean and tidy. That said, I did find them a bit too dark for my liking. The wine produced at the winery is excellent — definitely worth tasting on-site or buying a bottle to take with you. Breakfast is served from a menu and brought to the table. While the meal was quite basic and functional, the wait for the food was longer than expected. Overall, it’s a great spot for wine lovers looking for a peaceful and boutique-style place to stay.

Austere elegance at a historical castle. The room was spacious and well-appointed. Bed was comfortable. Pool area was nice but the pool itself could have been cleaner. Breakfast was lovely. It’s a very quiet setting. You almost felt like you had to whisper in the public areas.
