I had a lovely experience staying here, the owner was very friendly and gave me some good tips for exploring the local area. It can be a little difficult to find but other than that I have no complaints.
I enjoyed my stay at La Soffitta. Maria and Beatrice were very nice and Maria helped me with my Italian. Although it's away from the center of town it's on a large square with restaurants and a nice little bar where I went most nights. Orvieto is not large so you're only 10 minutes away from everything. Be ready to climb some stairs to get to your room. Cute little breakfast room with espresso machine. Modern bathroom with skylight. Plenty of hot water. Here you can have a real experience of Italy and Italian hospitality.
This is NOT a “B&B,” as there is no breakfast. Unfortunately, I did not understand the Italian word “affittacamere,” which means rooms only. The accommodation should not be listed on the web as a B&B. It is charming, clean, and well-kept. The owners are responsive. Please note that it is on the top floor in a building without an elevator and you must climb a circular staircase.
