We had the loft of the boutique hotel, very spacious, with an “ extra “ room with a day bed. The stairs are fun and a cute little entry area, this is not for anyone with any ambulating issues, but we had no problem getting up there. Beds are very comfortable, and the kitchenette is convenient. The contact and entry information relays were convenient and responsive
We have eaten at this restaurant 3 times over the summer. The food is very good but very pricey. My one issue is that the portions became smaller every time we went there and are beyond small. My husband left the restaurant very hungry. Had to go home and eat. We mentioned it to our server but what we should have done was to send the food back. Can't do that now as we will not be going back. Plenty of good restaurants in the area that provide decent portions. This was an anniversary celebration too bad it ended still being hungry.
Very disappointed by the lack of amenities, service and room comfort. There is no fridge (even though there is plenty of room for one in our room) and no ice maker on the property. Having to cross the steeet to ask for ice is not a suitable alternative. Our room has plenty of floor space in the bedroom and bathroom for any combination of a fridge, small cafe table or counter to rest your items. Not having counter space means that everything ends up on the floor. Clean towels? On the floor. Food items? On the floor. Toiletry items? On the floor or balanced over the back of the toilet because of the pedestal sink and no shelves. Why is there only one hook in the bathroom when there is so much wall space? It means that all used towels and face clothes need to be bunched together onto one small hook so nothing dries and is always wet or damp. Even the cheapest, outdated motels have fridges, hooks, counters and a shelf above the toilet for clean towels, etc. The only horizontal surface to place items is a small shelf by the door that is completely filled with items from the hotel. Also, there are so gathering spaces with suitable seating and tables ANYWHERE on the property! There are two chairs without a table on the front deck and another two chairs without table on the back deck. The back deck doesn’t have any shade and is right by the noisy exhaust vent from the restaurant below. So uninviting… We travelled with another couple and wanted to play cards one night and our only option was to set up two ironing boards (found in the supply closets) in our room and bring the one folding chair from their room and the other person needed to sit on the bed in order for four guests to socialize together on the property. Having to live off the floor for three days felt like we were staining in a tent. At least being on a campground we could have gathered at a picnic table. This lack of consideration for guest comfort is very puzzling. Your hotel looks very “cute”, but you need to consider that these rooms are tourists homes for several days and show that you care about their comfort. Not having a front desk with someone that you can talk to face to face about these things also gives me the impression that you only care about the revenue but not about your guest experience. It’s a real shame that our stay was so underwhelming because we really like Shediac and your other properties here look so much nicer, but now I question all your other Bower properties.
