Was booked into the hotel as part of a party. As the cost of the hotel was included in the overall package for the break I had know idea how much it was. On looking in the room folder I discovered how expensive it is. Ive stayed in 4 star hotels and paid less. Small hotel in the centre of the town. Comfortable and warm. Parking was in the street outside which was free between 7pm and 9am. Breakfast very simple, continental only. Handy for short stay in the town.
The rooms are completely run down! No proper heating! Very noisy and loud bar/club just next door to the hotel. Not worth the price! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Be aware they will try to scam you to get breakfast!!! Never again!
Upon arrival, a staff member asked what time we wanted breakfast. We mentioned that we hadn’t planned on having breakfast at the hotel, as we intended to eat at a nearby café in the sunshine. She then informed us that breakfast was included with our rooms, so we agreed to stay for it. However, the breakfast was served in a small underground room that was too cramped for the number of guests. When we checked out, a different staff member informed me that the lady had accidentally canceled my booking, and I might receive an email indicating that it was canceled. At the time, I didn’t think much of it, but now I realize that canceling the booking could prevent us from leaving a review on bookings.com. Additionally, the man at check-out tried to charge us for eight breakfasts at €16 each. I argued that the lady had told us breakfast was included and that we wouldn’t have eaten otherwise. He said there was nothing he could do but reduce the price to €10 per breakfast. I reluctantly paid, but the whole situation felt very sneaky. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s expensive, old, and falling apart. The way they handled the booking and breakfast charges was extremely disappointing.
