Ponta Da Barca

This family-run pousada and restaurant, owned by a wonderful mother and her son, was one of the absolute highlights of our stay. We came here several times for lunch and in the evenings for beer and caipirinhas, and every time we felt warmly welcomed. The son speaks perfect English, which made communication very easy, and both are incredibly kind and attentive. When you arrive, you’re greeted with roasted nuts or bread, and service is always with a smile. The son proudly shows his herb garden and offers homemade chili oil with different spice levels – a must-try! Friends of ours stayed here and were also very happy. It’s a truly personal Brazilian experience, with the best local tips and even a peek at their backyard cacao plant (we even tasted some cacao nibs). If you want to spend your money anywhere on this island, spend it here – they more than deserve it. We couldn’t recommend it more!

Definitely the best place in the island:) we have spent 3 days in paradise as in our homes. The owners were so welcoming, friendly and helpful in all matters. Also they are super service oriented, they think small details before you and just trying to make you happy and relaxed. Hope to be back one day with bottle of olive oil, which is their passion. We came here today and were served really well. We had the grilled fish and it was delicious! The homemade banana mousse with cinamon was yummy aswell. Rounded with nice cocktails we had a really good night.
