Portik Hotel

A great place located right in the center of Berat, with a great view of the city! Their terrace bar was simply great giving the best views of the old town, castle, and the old mosque.

This is a nice hotel however they have a huge problem with some of the staff. When I asked for assistance to take my bags from the second floor to the reception I was told it would cost €10 extra. Then when I went to check out I was told the room had not been paid for yet. I knew it had been and it took four or five phone calls by the rude fellow at reception to establish that it had been. If I hadn’t been firm in my view it would’ve cost me an extra €90. When I said I wanted to pay for the collection of the baggage by card this fellow insisted I pay by cash or otherwise the money would go to the Hotel. Clearly, he has a little racket going.

Portik veranda is a very beautiful bar and really nicely decorated with a great view. The employees tho aren’t fitted for this place, our table was full of water and some other things left from the previous guests and we had to ask the waiter twice to clean it, they also didn’t offer any water they just brought our drinks straight up. As for our coffee was pretty bad, tasted like Turkish coffee and the cappuccino was horrendous. Still a really nice place but needs lots of work on the employees to serve the right product and take care of customers.
