One of the best places. Very convenient location to see the albatross wildlife center and the beaches around Portobello. The owners are amazing and super friendly. Facilities are all well maintained. Cant wait to be back here! :-)
We had a powered campsite. Good location. Unfortunately the showers were the worst, very low pressure and the hot was very temperamental. Not sure if it's because all 3 were going at once. Otherwise happy with the service and facilities were as expected.
It’s an ok place. The drive down there on the peninsula road is stunning. The site itself is typical older NZ site. Only $24 for a powered site which was good. Bathroom was clean but cold. Maybe I got unlucky as it was wet and rainy but in general there’s not a lot in Portobello, the pub was empty, the cafe closed and 1 general store. Felt a bit bleak.
