Portocabana By Miramar Stays

We are so grateful for Porto Cabana and their staff for the welcome they gave us this past weekend. We were coming back from a day visiting the countryside when we received a message from our hotel on Balarés beach that there was a terrible fire in Ponteceso and the roads back to our hotel were closed. Without being able to return to the hotel, fearing the worst, the owners quickly organized with Porto Cabana to find us a place to stay for the night. On arrival, Laura at reception was incredibly kind and thoughtful, thinking of anything we might need for the night and in the morning (she hunted down phone chargers and brought us everything we needed). The room was calm and quiet and allowed us to sleep through such an anxious night. We are forever grateful for the Galician hospitality and kindness that was shown to us. I'm sure the staff at Porto Cabana were even more affected by the fires than us, who, in the grand scheme of things, simply lost a bit of holiday but they STILL took care of us. Moitas grazas!!!

The apartment itself is nothing special. It is spacious and clean and the area also comes with a few facilities. I should also mention that the TV is very small and WiFi on the apartments is pretty much nonexistent. There is however a WiFi room next to the reception but don't get your hopes up, the speed is painfully slow, so I wouldn't count on it. The big selling point of the apartment and the reason why it's getting 5 stars is because of the astonishing views it has to offer, very few places have sunsets like these, next to such a beautiful estuary. The big windows and the terrace make it very easy to enjoy them and have you staring at the vast landscape for hours. Overall I would recommend, just bare in mind that it isn't anything luxurious.
