Portohall Beach

Small hotel in the city, closer to the tram to go to Porto and a five-minute walk from the beach, the swimming pool, bicycles and surfboards available to clients gives it an added value that few places in the area surpass. Correct and varied breakfast. What stands out the most is the friendliness of the staff. If you are sensitive to noise, perhaps the proximity of the tram may bother you.

A fabulous place to stay in Matosinhos with great connections to central Porto via bus, tram, taxi or just a long coastal walk if it is not too hot. The house is well kept and the rooms comfortable, as are the beds. If you struggle with background noise that would be the only possible criticism - the metro runs along the road in front but did not bother us as we live in a town anyway. The beach is 5 minutes and there is also a slightly warmer sea water lido about 30 minutes along the coast. Ivo (the owner/manager?) was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and speaks near perfect English. We went as a couple but other guests were there as families. With only 9 rooms it never felt crowded.

Beautifully decorated guest house. Friendly helpful staff. Very close to the beach and good restaurants. Loved being able to borrow the bikes to cycle into Porto. Highly recommend!
