Perfect location close to the main part of town with very friendly and helpful staff and a neat modern well maintained structure. It also had a great little kitchenette, which is unusual in a hotel (although there is no restaurant of bar) and the free coffee via an automated espresso machine in the lobby was awesome (better than many cafes offer). Main negatives are that the small balcony had no outdoor furniture, and whilst the bathroom was very clean, it was showing its age a little. Also the view from the back of the hotel is basically across the hotel carpark and roofs of downtown Gisborne (although that was reflected in the very reasonable price we paid) so would definitely recommend a room with port view, if that's important to you.
Nice rooms, full kitchens. Gave it a four as there is no restaurant,you either have to come prepared or walk 15min to a supermarket. Not ideal at night alone to be doing this.
Friendly staff, nice clean room but noisy with the ship. I feel it's over priced with a basic view and the balcony could do with an outdoor chair otherwise it's in a great location for eating out and the main shops.
