Posada Real del Pinar

La Posada is located in a big peaceful, green pine tree area with shadows. The big garden has nice donkeys, goats and many wonderful peacocks, beyond walks in the woods and a swimming pool. We had a high quality dinner to a very affordable price and an amazing breakfast! Very comfortable rooms with view to the pine tree forest. All the staff was naturally sweet, welcoming, smiling and lovely. After many years of intensive travelling, this is no doubt one of my favourite places!

The most beautiful location, off the beaten track and simply faultless in terms of a peaceful, beautiful, get away. However, in my opinion - aesthetics alone of a historial building & grounds doesn't = amazing hotel experience. I would have appreciated some more warmth and welcoming from the staff and, the food served at the restaurant is almost unforgivable - perhaps it would be if it was significantly cheaper. Can't understand complaints about the drive to the place not being easy (it doesn't need to be, surely people want to escape city roads if they're choosing to stay somewhere so beautiful and unspoiled) - but I do agree with the complaints about the food. The staff weren't rude at all when spoken to, but we didn't feel welcomed or warmth from the staff. (My husband is Spanish so language barrier wasn't an issue). Would also have appreciated some conversation and information about the animals there, and the history. Has the potential to be incredible but food and service didn't match the spectacular surroundings.
