Breakfast was the most amazing spread. For an included meal, it far surpassed my expectations! Hotel was wonderful as well.

It was built in 12th century and several times reconstructed due to the military updates. The largest role it played during the 17th century, as an important back support during the defence of independence. The same kind of support the Estremoz Castle's forces provided during the 19th century. Due to the modernization of Estremoz (20 century), part of the walls were demolished.
A-mazing castle 5 star experience! Very comfortable, quiet with 360 degree view & fabulous food & drink. We loved coming during shoulder season with less crowds, impeccable service & some cost savings. So much history in this part of Portugal! The Pousada chain of accommodations is not to be missed!!!
