A 24-Year Cliffhanger: My Long-Awaited Return to Pitinga Pousada Back in the year 2000, I stayed at Hotel Pousada Pitinga, and it was nothing short of magical. The kind of place that makes you sigh in contentment and think, "This, right here, is the peak of human achievement." Fast forward 24 years (a full generation later), and I decided to relive the glory, now with our 23 year old twins. June 2024 was marked in my calendar, the bags were packed, and we were ready to step back in time. And then... the plot twist. The hotel wasn’t open. Talk about delayed gratification! Now, you might think, "Who writes a review 24 years later? Isn't this a bit like reviewing a restaurant because you once ate there when it served fondue in the '90s?" But here’s the thing: Pitinga Pousada was so unforgettable that I can still remember the way it felt to be there, even after all these years. Based on its current rave reviews, I’m confident the place is still living up to its former glory (if not exceeding it). Sure, I couldn’t re-experience it in June, but that’s not stopping me from wanting to come back again—and hopefully this time with a less dramatic plot twist. To anyone who has visited recently: Hold onto this gem with both hands! And for me, well, the dream lives on. Sooner or later, I’ll make it back. Just don’t be surprised if I show up in another 24 years for the sequel.

We couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. My husband and I enjoyed 6 nights at Hotel Pousada Pitinga before we welcome our first child this upcoming August. Our room was spacious and incredibly comfortable, the staff was more than welcoming and always had the highest energy with 10/10 service. The breakfast and lunch options continued to surprise us - while even adding the fish dish to our top 5 favorite meals in Brazil! Being a quick walk from Pitinga beach and just minutes away from town, our days were split between hours lounging at the pousada, walking the beach and grabbing a bite at the cabanas, and kayaking. Our evenings always started with a nap by the grass before heading into town for a taste of the incredible night life, dinner spots and live music. It says a lot that our original plan was to stay three nights... by day two we had decided we couldn't leave until we absolutely had to.

My fiancé and I luckily stumbled upon this place while driving to Pitinga Beach. What a hidden gem! We didn't have a place to stay at the moment and decided to stay here for a couple of nights. Two nights turned in five once we settled in and fell in love with the Pousada, the staff & the location. It was exactly what we needed to refuel our souls and our minds before traveling back home. My fiancé and I decided that this will now become a semi yearly tradition and look forward to staying here many more times to come. The restaurant on-site is also very good. We ended up eating lunch here every day and did not have one bad meal. The fish dishes are absolutely to die for in the staff is very accommodating, thoughtful and attentive. Five stars all around!
