Pousada Recanto da Grande Paz

Amazing garden. Being woken up in the morning by toucans, parrots, ibis and the like in the morning is truly an amazing experience. In addition to this, the rooms are cozy, the staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is very good.

It is a very peaceful place to stay, It has a Nice pool, the breakfast is simple but attend our demand and staff os very polite and helpful. Also they offer a lot of assistance to guide you to the turistic places.

I really wanted to like this place, as the initial experience at check-in was great and the other reviews very positive, but it unfortunately fell short in a number of areas during our stay. The good points first: Reception was friendly and courteous and pointed us in the right direction for a massage. The grounds of the hotel are stunning with mature fauna and flora, and there's a very relaxed feel to the place. Unfortunately, we found the rooms to be tired and on the small side, and our room had a very unpleasant smell that we couldn't get rid of for the duration of the stay. We informed reception and they provided air freshener, but this didn't resolve the issue. WiFi was available but didn't work in our room. Breakfast was very average, with rock hard pão de queijo and very limited selection of fruit on offer. Most other restaurants offer tapioca, but this wasn't available when I enquired. Perhaps this was just a one-off experience, as other reviews would suggest, but for the price paid I expected much more from this pousada.
