Praia D'El Rey Marriott Golf & Beach Resort

We recently visited this hotel and were thoroughly impressed — especially by the restaurant. The buffet was exceptional, offering a wide array of thoughtfully prepared dishes to suit every palate. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were consistently attentive, polite, and proactive. Without needing to ask, they kindly offered kid-friendly options, which made the meal all the more enjoyable for our family. The atmosphere and interior design of the restaurant were beautiful — a perfect balance of elegance and comfort. A wonderful experience all around. We loved it and would gladly return.

The hotel itself is great. The rooms are very comfortable and had everything we needed. The hotel complex is clean and very well kept. Breakfast was superb and had a wide range of food and drink. We also ate at the restaurant one evening and it was good and reasonably priced for an international hotel chain. The bars had a good selection of drinks and we enjoyed the cocktails we had (tip: the ones in the bars upstairs are far superior to the ones around the pool). The staff were very polite and provided a great service. We came for a relaxing break. Unfortunately this was spoilt by excessive building works taking place around the pool. It was extremely noisy and to be honest ruined some of the experience. We couldn’t relax, the noise even went through my headphones. It’s a shame I can’t post the videos. We’ll be taking it up with the management. On checkout we weren’t asked whether we enjoyed the stay, so we’ll pick it up later on our return home.

They do not respect Bonvoy Status Members. We did not get the room we were promised. They made us wait three hours to check in. Hotel management has ignored us to remedy our room situation. The hotel is on the beach but access is closed. You have to take a shuttle. Too bad because the rest of the staff is really lovely. If they only didn’t screw you the minute you try to check in. Not the best welcome….
