Praia Ipanema Hotel

A little bit late review 😊 but we enjoyed so much our time during the Carnival of Rio this year in April the room was really good ( thanks for the Upgrade 😊 you didn't tell us but we knew it and enjoyed it so much, for the view to the hill 😍 ) and the view at the rooftop pool was amazing on sunset ! Only the breakfast is the "hick" , with a higher quality you would attract far more people. And this one is not related to the hotel, but We thought the guest to our neighboor room smoked j*in and was quite loud ... we wanted to tell the reception, but it happened just the first night ( maybe they were gone after it ) and nothing bad happened again. The receptionost and the doorman were really really friendly to us 😊

The location is the best thing about this hotel, and the view from the rooftop pool is breathtaking, but other than that, I would say it is mediocre. The staff wasn't very friendly. Every time I had to talk to them, I left the conversation feeling like I was bothering them. There was always sand on the floor of our room, even after it had been made up, so I'm not sure if they swept the floor the whole time we were there. The room was comfortable enough, but it didn't seem like much effort was put into decorating it. It felt kind of bare. The bathroom was very nice, however and the shower was excellent with good water pressure and very hot water. The breakfast was good. Overall, I liked this hotel, but I can't say that we loved it. For the price, I expected more. I much prefer Golden Tulip Ipanema.

Terrible arrival - restaurant closed earlier than said online, so we did room service: slow, cold and questionable hygiene (the individual sauce bowl contained old used ketchup packets..) Cold shower until we figured out (15min to get help from reception) that it was mounted upside down and needed a 5-10min to warm… Rooms are large, but no noise insulation and absolutely no decoration - so a bit creepy ! Not a 4⭐️ hotel experience !
