The hotel is small and family-run, the atmosphere is accordingly relaxing, the staff friendly, everything feels sort of “chill.” The location of the hotel is excellent, with views of greenery and the sea. Since the forest is close at hand, there are mosquitoes, so bring something against the little beasts. For me personally, the most important thing: everything is very clean and tidy. Rooms: not brand-new or trendy, but well maintained and practically equipped with everything you need. At least, ours was. The pool has seawater and is just the right size for hotel guests. You can always find a free sunbed and umbrella, an armchair to lounge in with a cocktail, or a table by the pool if you want to eat something after swimming. The restaurant is fully glazed (except for a few tables right by the pool), so it’s airy, not stuffy, not crowded, with views of nature, which is very regenerating and relaxing. In the evenings, you can hear crickets. We had half board and were satisfied. Breakfast was very good (eggs in at least three ways, fresh vegetables, grilled vegetables, fried zucchini and eggplants, cheeses and cold cuts, sausages, juices, coffee machine, fruit, etc.). Maybe the only thing would be to offer a greater variety of bread. They have 2–3 kinds of rolls, but no regular bread. Rolls are less convenient for spreads, while a slice of bread is more practical, especially for kids. On the other hand, you can always ask and you’ll get what you need. Dinner is served in courses (4 courses), and you choose between meat or fish menus. The food is tasty. Out of six meals, there was only once where we weren’t satisfied with one course (not the whole dinner) and once where we had to wait a long time because it was a holiday and the restaurant was packed since it was the only one open in town. Twice they treated us with sparkling wine at dinner, which isn’t a big deal but was definitely nice. For lunch, we didn’t have to leave the hotel if we didn’t want to because they offer about 10 dishes for a very affordable price. Of course, you can always order à la carte as well. In line with the region, they take pride in their local products: Aura brand spirits and liqueurs, gin, Istrian wines. But they’re not exclusive. They also have a freezer with Ledo ice cream (after last year’s experience with salmonella at Hotel Vespera, this was a big plus). Although I’m not a smoker and it’s not my “thing,” I noticed they even offer some cigars. They also have happy hour for about 10 cocktails (buy one, get one free). Prices are generally reasonable (cocktails €7, beer €4, espresso coffee €1.60). The wellness area is small, but just right for the hotel, clean and pleasant. The Turkish and Finnish saunas are not huge, but not tiny either — a decent size. Jacuzzi, regular showers, loungers, bucket showers. For hotel guests, the wellness area is free; you just need to book in advance. It seems to be their way of avoiding crowds, and I think that’s completely fine. I spent 2 hours there completely alone. Bliss. Maybe some relaxing ambient music wouldn’t hurt, but silence is also wonderful for rest. They don’t offer massages. The staff is mostly foreign, but there’s always someone who can step in, and the hosts are almost always around. You can tell they care, and sometimes they even roll up their sleeves to help (to be fair, this stands more for the older generation). In conclusion, if you want a pleasant and family-friendly vacation at normal prices with a relaxing atmosphere, Premantura Resort is an excellent choice and highly recommended. Definitely, as the English say, “value for money.” Of course, it all depends on what you expect from a holiday. From our perspective (a couple with a small child), it was great, and we would happily return (in high season).

Excellent food and service, the waiters are top-notch. Locals, take a lesson from these guys – a smile, professionalism, and kindness should always come first.
