President Abraham Lincoln Springfield DoubleTree by Hilton

In terms of location, you can't beat this hotel. You can walk to the Abraham Lincoln Museum and the Lincoln Home. My room was spacious and clean. I had a burger at the Globe Restaurant in the hotel, and it was delicious. The elevators are a bit old, and sometimes you may have to wait, but that isn't completely normal at an older historic hotel. You do have to pay to park, which can add up. Right across the street is the Celtic Mist, a great little Irish bar with friendly bartenders.

Stayed for the weekend here and it was nice. The staff was very friendly and professional. We had lunch and drinks here and that was awesome as well. Our room was very clean only issue we would say is that it could be updated as the picture of the tub needs to be remodeled. But other than that was a nice experience here.

Pros: 1. Excellent location, and easy to find via car, train or local transit. 2. The front desk was very helpful, and upfront that they were actively working on repairs and maintenance. 3. There were allergy friendly cookies! (Vegan & GF option) Cons/Issues: 1. Hotel is in desperate need of repair, remodeling, and complete renovations. This is completely evident in the pool area, hotel rooms, and overall conditions of interior buildings. 2. Hot tub looks to be out of order since January 2025, and pool is in filthy condition, with a poor odor, and evidence of rust, mildew and potential mold. 3. Hotel room lacks microwave, mini fridge. 4. Lack of ANY vending machines on individual floors and difficult to locate in hotel. However there is a hotel “store” or mini mart where would could acquire snacks. 5. Housekeeping staff and maintenance was verbally having an arguement or altercation, impression was the maintenance manager was being incredibly rude to housekeeping. 6. Expensive for lack of amenities, and condition of the hotel. Am optimistic improvements will be made, but seeking a refund and recommend you avoid at all costs.
