Presidential Suites Lifestyle Cabarete Room Only

Family of 9 with two 2 bedrooms next to each other. Service was wonderful. Was on poolside and had the pool all to ourselves. Ate at the resort restaurants 4 times. Delicious!! Wonderful people. Restaurants within walking distance. No complaints here.

It's a beautiful resort with lovely accommodations. It's especially lovely if you have a room with an ocean view! It's located right in the center of town, so if you are looking for a quiet getaway, this isn't really it. But if you want local flavor and like to explore, this is the place for you! Staff has, overall, been very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The suites have plenty of everything to get by. The one thing some people will dislike is that each person gets exactly 1 large bath towel and 1 beach/pool towel per stay. Now, we are not spoiled enough to care about this, but if you are used to getting fresh linens every day or two, you're going to be disappointed. For us, it works just fine. Their on-site restaurant for dinner is solidly good. It has both Asian and Italian food. You can also pre-order Dominican food (24 hours ahead). It's on the expensive side for the area, but not for what you get. It's pretty and has both European and Asian seating, which is fun. There is an ocean view. Breakfast is nice and very reasonably priced. Drinks at the bar are also reasonable,  and they make one of the best mojitos we have ever had. If you tire of the resort restaurant, you're in luck. A 5 minute walk away on the beach are about 15 restaurants ready to serve you! There are several pools - all nice. It's definitely a family-friendly place and we appreciate the fact that it's not required to have an all-inclusive plan. We would definitely come back!

They gave us a really hard time checking in because I hade one too many names on my ID. I had to insist on them allowing us to check in. When we checked in, the room wreaked of smoke, it was horrible. It appears they encourage smoking because the rooms have ashtrays in them. We had booked a room on the ground level with a pool right outside the room. They moved us to an upper level room with no discount. They said there were no more ground level pool rooms available. HOWEVER the entire time we were there we counted about 10 such rooms empty. There were cockroaches everywhere in the room, I mean lots. In the cabinets, showers, the floor, it was horrible. We asked several times to speak to the manager but he was never available to us. They make it seem as there are several restaurants, however only one is open at a time. The restaurant staff was polite, but the service was very slow. I am disappointed to say it was a very unpleasant experience, and we received no indication at all that they felt badly for the inconvenience, room downgrade, or lack of cleanliness.
