We had a lovely stay at Protea on our trip to Uganda. The staff was very welcoming and kind. The barista was super detail oriented and made a big effort to make our breakfast as special as possible. The views on Lake Victoria and the sunrise are also incredible. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful stay!
Exceptionally friendly staff. The hotel felt safe with hired security and a controlled entrance. The food was quite tasty and reasonably priced. The lake flies were a bit much, it was not uncommon to have ants/flies in the dining area during meals. Just down the road from the airport made the location convenient. Fantastic gym and a very nice pool. Although they sold day passes which caused quite a bit of noise.
I tried to book the N5 Boutique Hotel and unfortunately it was sold out. I would never recommend staying at Protea. The hotel is dated, there are some constructions at the hotel , thousands of insects in the hotel (not their fault, but keep that in mind) and the service is poor (they did not make up my room ). It does have a nice view to the Lake Victoria and the pool is good. Other than that, would definitely look for other options.
