Protea Hotel by Marriott Knysna Quays

This property does not meet the usual Marriott standards. While the rooms are clean and equipped with basic amenities (kettle, tea, coffee, and milk), many expected facilities are missing. There is no room service, the Wi-Fi connection is poor (especially at the end of the corridor if your room located there, in which I did) and no drinking water is provided in the rooms. The breakfast is disappointing, and calls to reception often go unanswered. If you are on an extremely tight budget, this place might suffice, but be prepared to bring your own drinking water, snacks, and to eat before returning to the hotel. I originally booked for four nights but checked out after the third due to the lack of facilities. The property has potential, but it requires better management and attention to detail.

The location is nice with parking, shops and cafe nearby and peaceful area. Rest the hotel is quite outdated not up to the stands the rooms are old and outdated not up-to the Marriott standard for sure. The staff was helpful and welcoming but for sure short on staff. Location wise good - room stay wise okay ish sure people can find better well updated spots nearby.

The location is fantastic. Quick connection to highway and access to the markets and restaurants near by. Unfortunately the good parts end here. Rooms are old and dated. Service and attitude - very poor. Floor was dirty, requested for room slippers, it was rejected. Dental kits are sold at zar 45. Other than location, nothing enjoyable about the property.
