Protea Hotel by Marriott Upington

We had the most wonderful stay at the Protea Hotel in Upington! The room was spacious, spotless, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What truly stood out, though, was the staff—every single person was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It honestly felt like a home away from home. A huge thank you to the entire team for your outstanding service!

The hotel is clean, and for someone who always complains about cleanliness and clean linen, this hotel has stolen my heart. I had an extra length king size bed all to myself, there's a bar fridge for my wine 🍷 🙃 and snacks, I also had a balcony right above the swimming pool which was nice as I could just sit on the balcony and watch people get on with their activities. The bar has a beautiful relaxing vibe to it, and the restaurant is also nice 👌. I had the Kalahari brai meal, which had the karoo lamb. It was cooked to perfection, but the serving was too large. I ended up taking it home the following day! Breakfast was also nice. the standard hotel breakfast was served, but it didn't taste standard at all. I am somewhat of a hard to please guest and will always try to push the staff to see what the reaction would be, and I can tell you, the staff is well trained (well, the ones I interacted with are well trained).

It was as expected from a 3-Star hotel, I loved the big shower though! The charging points adapters were also very welcome. We're welcomed to a very chilly morning. Air-conditioned rooms and warm breakfast warmed us up.
