Pueblo Bonito Montecristo Luxury Villas All Inclusive

We’ve stayed at Montecristo Estates multiple times, but this was our first time trying the private chef experience, and we’re kicking ourselves for not doing it sooner. For $65 per adult (and half off for kids, with little ones free), it was not only an incredible experience but surprisingly economical. We had enough amazing food left over to enjoy lunch and dinner the next day. Roberto Montes, the supervisor, went above and beyond. He decorated the dining room beautifully, served us at the table, and made sure our kids would enjoy the meal as well. The whole team was outstanding. Chef Alejandro and sous chef Carolina prepared and presented an unforgettable traditional Mexican meal. The candied walnut, pear, and strawberry salad with homemade mango vinaigrette was a standout, and the chipotle shrimp skewers, perfectly cooked steak and chicken, rich carnitas, and vibrant salsas and guac made every bite unforgettable. We’ll be booking the private chef dinner every time from now on. With kids in tow, it made our night so easy and enjoyable. Huge thanks to the entire team for making this such a special memory for our family.

We had a great time during our stay. The staff at cibola was especially attentive including Felix and the bar staff Luis and Edgar. We have been vacationing there for the last few years and we were happy to see that Felix continues to work there. Great experience!

The Sunset hotel room was less than perfect. To list a few of the ongoing issues: room smelt like mold, the AC did not cool, the fixed AC rattled when running, one of the two showers did not have a shower head. The Montecristo Villa was better. Our butler was helpful at getting a plumbing issue resolved, setting up reservations on and off the resort, cleaning staff was good- but not excellent. After the many years we have been visiting, the buildings seem to be showing their wear and tear. Most annoying was the "no see me" bugs that ate me alive. Nothing I purchased seemed to resolve the issue. Though the resort stated they sprayed twice while we were there, slightly hard to believe. As an elite member with almost 100k plopped into this place, I really do expect a bit more than what we had on this trip. It was an embarrassment to the report and to me in front of our guest.
