We had a lovely family time in this quiet and restful sea side complex. The swimming pool is delightfully warm. The inmense beach is only 5 minutes walk; the apartment is well equipped with air con and all the facilities needed for self catering. The complex is located on the outskirts of Villa Gesell and a taxi (of around 150 pesos) ride to either the centre or next town of Mar de Las Pampas (unmissable picturesque and unique small village style with great sand dunes). The new bus terminal is only 10 minutes drive from this complex so if you are travelling without car is very easy to access. Two small markets are 10 minutes walk and a family parrilla is also nearby. If you want tranquility and a relaxing time this place is great. The staff are very accommodating and looked after us well. Thank you to all, special thanks to Federico.
The apartment has relatively well-preserved furniture. It has a kitchen, refrigerator and clothesline, which is practical for cooking and organizing during your stay. The heated pool is very good and one of the strong points of the place. However, there are several negative aspects to take into account. Upon arrival, the cleanliness of the apartment was poor: we found hair on the bed, stained sheets and a piece of meat in the trash can. The bathroom also left a lot to be desired in terms of hygiene. It is clear that the place is for sale and that no investment has been made in its maintenance for a long time. The Internet is practically nonexistent. The parking lot has so much sand that there is a risk of being buried. The included breakfast is very poor: just four croissants and low-quality coffee (“Marolio”), or cooked tea/mate. Furthermore, the outdoor park is totally wasted; There is not even a bench to sit on. Added to this is that the last 50 meters to get there are just sand, which makes access even more complicated. In summary, Punto Playa has some plus points, but the lack of investment and maintenance negatively impacts the overall experience.
The place is beautiful and the location is excellent, but the entrance and parking are terrible. The Wi-Fi doesn't work, one TV didn't work, and the other was from 1920, practically nonexistent either. They don't have cable. One day the pool didn't work because it was under maintenance. I was there for four days, and they didn't even have the courtesy to try to fix that problem. The facilities are run-down, damp, and everything is in bad shape. The place is beautiful, but it's a shame it's overcrowded, and it's probably because it's for sale, but they should charge accordingly. I don't recommend it, I wouldn't return.
