I want to start off by saying the staff is extremely kind (no issues with them at all). Most of my issues were with place itself. I wouldn't classify it as a 4 star hotel. In the 2 days that I was there, the AC barely worked (I had them come check on it) in peak summer. Other than it being HOT in the room, the balcony door kept falling, shower handle was a mess, sink tiny and worst of all was breakfast. Our options were a brownie, some old stale pastries and cornflakes. No fresh fruit even (which there is plenty of in BA). I had a cab booked for 4:15 am through the hotel for my flight and they arrived 25 minutes LATE. By then I had already booked an Uber and was on my way to the airport. For the amount of money I paid to stay here, it was a thorough disappointment. Palermo is a beautiful neighborhood though. As a solo woman traveler I felt very safe!
At check-in they tried to charge us with a bad conversion rate, beware! (27% higher in € than in booking), then room lock was not working, but got a new room, one day we came back late from a Tour and we had no water anymore in our bathroom, people fixed it but it took around 30mins until we had water again.
Lost cash. Be careful with this hotel. While my friend stayed in the hotel, I went for a walk and storing my luggage at the front desk because I have a flight to catch in the evening. They wrote me a ticket, things were normal. It was until I reached airport that I found I have lost all my 100 USD bills and some cash in other currencies. All IDs and cards were intact. Was sure the lost happened in there because I just paid cash before reaching the hotel and everything was there. Cash was put deep inside the luggage, so it was opened and carefully searched by someone. I’m not sure it’s the hotel people or others in the hotel, in any case, it is not safe and is a scam. BE CAREFUL!
