We recently stayed at the Q8 Boutique Hotel in Portsmouth. The staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay, which we really appreciated and made us feel very welcome. The location was fantastic - just a short walk to lots of great bars, pubs, shops and restaurants, and only a £5 taxi ride to Gunwarf Quays! However, the room itself was quite basic, and unfortunately the bed in our double room was very uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep. That said, the hotel was clean and had everything we needed for a short stay and the service definitely made up for some of the room’s shortcomings. Overall, a decent stay but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff, parking not good, after 1800(6pm)Street parking is free, you must be gone by 0800(8am ) charges are expensive, that aside nice place, needs few updates but liveable, recommend to anyone.

I hate doing this, but... Clean, neat, tidy, and modern hotel. However, a long-standing broken handrail is just so dangerous that I almost fell backwards. It is an old maintenance issue and simply not good enough. The room was cold, so as we left for the evening, we were told it was on a timer. When we returned the evening receptionist went into the back room and then told us he'd put on the heating. Of course, it didn't happen. The one saving grace was the morning receptionist was charming. Clearly, as it stands, the entrance to the hotel is very dangerous, and you are in danger of being treated like an idiot. One not to recommend or to return to.
