My friend and I recently stayed at your hotel for a two-night girls’ weekend, and while we were excited for a relaxing escape, our experience unfortunately did not meet the expectations we had when booking a 5-star property. On the first day, we returned to our room at around 3:30pm to find that housekeeping had not yet serviced our room. When we approached the front desk, we were advised, “I’ll ask them, but they’ve had a really busy day today, so I can’t make any promises.” This response was quite disappointing, especially given the premium price of $340 per night, and the level of service we expected as part of that. More significantly, the biggest issue we encountered was the severe lack of soundproofing. Our neighboring guests were clearly having a party, and on both nights we were kept awake well into the early hours of the morning. It felt as though they were in the room with us. We had to call to complain both nights due to the noise, and beyond that, we were subjected to hearing them engage in very loud intimate activities—not once, but on five separate occasions. It was incredibly uncomfortable and not what we would expect in a hotel of this calibre. As two mums simply looking to unwind, enjoy a peaceful cup of tea in bed, and get some much-needed rest, the constant disturbances made our stay far from relaxing. We mentioned this to the front desk on check-out, but the staff member didn’t seem to know how to respond, which further added to our disappointment. On a positive note, the room itself was beautifully designed and the bed was incredibly comfortable, which we appreciated. I hope you take this feedback on board to improve the guest experience, particularly regarding soundproofing and staff responsiveness.

I was quite disappointed with my stay at QT Melbourne. I was attending a work course early the next morning so was having my first night away from my baby twins. I had planned to make the most of my night away with a nice hotel and a massage. When I arrived at 3:45pm I was told that my room wasn’t ready due to housekeeping issues. I explained I had an appointment at 4:30 and needed to use my breast pump beforehand and asked if there was anywhere quiet where I could express. I was told that I could to use the toilet. A toilet stall is obviously not a hygienic or comfortable location to be collecting milk that is going to be fed to babies. I was very disappointed by this and had to sit in the lobby quite uncomfortable because I had been relying on expressing once I arrived. When I was finally able to access my room at 4:15 it meant I still had to pump and so I was late for and missed a portion of my massage. The bathroom in the room had a bit of a funny smell (perhaps this was the aforementioned housekeeping issue). The location is good but I was quite upset to have my need to express so thoroughly disregarded and this put a dampener on my whole time away. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect to be able to access your room by 4pm (especially on a one night stay).

Pros- Room was great. Very comfortable bed. Nicely styled. Cons- shower pressure is terrible. Service is terrible and not overly friendly. Front desk staff are full of themselves and don’t act like they are working in a supposed 5 star hotel. Too busy chatting to each other or avoiding serving guests waiting at the desk. The lobby heating is like a hot sauna. The poor dog laying behind the counter ( which I found weird ) has to put up with the heat and not fresh air all made worse with the sickly fragrance that’s pumped through the vents. Surely it can’t be healthy, especially for animals? Rooftop bar is a great place for a drink but the self service is a joke. I don’t pay high prices for your staff to stand behind the bar and not take my order. No upselling and no service whatsoever. Same occurs at QT Newcastle. Lots of self self service. Lift your game QT Hotels.
