No need lots of words to name this hotel as one of the best we have visited. The hotel itself it’s very special and discovering the area of Comporta makes this a great choice for a top vacation. Stunning beach, many sport possibilities. Very authentic little fishing towns around. Relaxing but also active vacation suitable for families
We had an unforgettable stay at Quinta da Comporta. Every moment was incredible—from running through the rice fields and down to the beach, to spending long, sun-drenched days on the nearby coastline soaking up the incredible sand-and-sea energy. The meals delicious, and we loved using the gym and walking the stunning property each day. The architecture and design are breathtaking—a perfect blend of beach vibes mixed with color and texture. Our villa was absolute paradise. It was the perfect place to rest, relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature and the nearby ocean breeze.
I never write reviews but for this I had to. Extremely disappointing, where do I start? Got the rooftop suite which was overpriced in the first place so I expected something exceptional. Upon checking into the suite a stench of mold invaded my nostrils, only to realize it’s because the bathroom is mostly compromised of UNSEALED wood including the flooring and base of the bathtub(which is extremely unhygienic as it’s a breeding ground for mold because it’s a humid space that is exposed to water constantly) the wooden flooring was creaking loudly throughout the bathroom and entire suite (which is a clear indication of humidity/water seeping in) and ofcourse as a result had patches of mold that look like they’ve been there for a while now. Nasty. I’m paying a high rate to inhale mold for a few days? On top of that I can’t even open the windows cause mosquitos will get in and there’s no net for the balcony. The ceiling was also not sealed properly and had unsealed exposed areas which insects are able to crawl in and visit me during my stay. Also, spider nets and dirt in the corners of the wooden ceiling. I inform reception they gaslight me. I become adamant as the mold stench was increasing so they give in and present me with a “solution” the receptionist comes in with an almost finished bottle of neutralizer. This means I wasn’t the only one complaining and they’re fully aware of this extreme issue. Also there’s an infestation of mosquitos around the area and housekeeping don’t even bother closing the room door when cleaning allowing so many mosquitos to come in and feast on my body throughout my stay. I had to tell her please close the door when you clean. Common sense. The “spa” also has mold, the steam room had clear green patches of mold on the sides which is absolutely disgusting, I went in and immediately caught the smell only to leave disappointed and disgusted. More things; no room service available for breakfast, room service closes at 11pm. The phone in the suite doesn’t even work was communicating with reception through WhatsApp. The valet takes ages and on 3 occasions handed us another guest’s rental car. This hotel doesn’t care about wellness, if they did they wouldn’t let guests just deal with mold like it’s something casual. False advertising. They make you pay an upfront 100% fee before checking in because they are clearly aware of all these major issues that would be unacceptable to most guests. Save your money, go somewhere else. Major scammers, 5 star hotels don’t have wide spread mold contamination and marks of dead insects all over the walls of the property collecting up like trophies.
