Quinta Real Oaxaca

This hotel is absolutely fantastic. The whole place is beautiful, calm and a wonderful place to spend time. The layout of the hotel is great with the rooms and all facilities totally integrated, it feels more like a large home than a hotel. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and their communication is perfect. Breakfast and room service were great,fresh high quality ingredients. The swimming pool is a lovely place to hang out and relax. Everything we needed (even a last minute hair stylist to our room) they were able to provide with no issues and with complete ease. A perfect stay.

The hotel itself is beautiful — the architecture and surroundings are truly lovely. However, the service was disappointing and, at times, unprofessional. Staff came directly to my room to demand immediate payment in cash for breakfast, even though it’s standard in most hotels to settle restaurant charges at check-out. Without any prior notice, they also deactivated my room key, which felt like unnecessary pressure and a violation of privacy. In general, the staff felt inattentive and rather abrupt in their communication. It’s a shame, because the property itself has great potential — but the overall experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.

We had a trip planned to stay here, but weather caused us to miss our connection and we could not make it in time for the weekend. The hotel had been nothing but awful to us. We were a group of 10 and they could not have cared any less about our situation. We book through a 3rd party and three hotel said we had to call them. We did and they attempted to negotiate but were stonewalled. Hotel staff were incredibly rude and seemed to relish in taking our money even though we were physically unable to get there. We still want to do this trip another time, but hotel even refused to give us a credit to use later. I would not trust the this hotel. They will not work with you in any way if you have problems.
