Just had a fantastic stay! Thank you to the lovely team their, they were all so polite and kind. On check in, they were very helpful and even upgraded our room, and as we were on a couples date night it made the trip extra special. The room service is divine, the food looks to good to eat and tastes even better. Lots of little complimentary items, toiletries, coffees, water and even a shoe shine kit. It's also the little details, we told the kind lady at check in we were just having a date night to get away together, and she listened, offered recommendations and wished us well, every person politely asked if it was OK to enter the room before doing so to drop of room service, wished us well and they called us within seconds of dropping off breakfast to apologise for missing sugar from our tray, offering to bring some up, along with anything else we may need, but we had plenty as there was a large variety of supplies for teas and coffees. Highly recommend a stay, made our date night extra special and already planning another stay!

Disliked · I do not recommend booking and paying more than other similar hotels to this hotel for car park reason. The site immediate several impression was that a car park is provided. See photos attached. Hence I paid more for my stay just to ensure that my car is safely parked at the hotel car park. However it is not correct. The car park is controlled by a 3rd party. I received not transparent or consistent communication regarding this when I called a day before my arrival to the hotel, I was told that a car park space is not guaranteed, first come first service. Even this was not correct. I was told there was no manager to talk to; this is not normal. I cancelled an important work meeting to arrive 2 hours before actual check in time and 2 hours after previous customers had left. On arrival the car park gate was closed with a red sign that it was full. I called the hotel and seriously informed my complaints and concerns. Suddenly the gate opened and the car park actually was not full, several parking spaces were available. Lack of transparency and respect to customers. This was a very distressing situation and experience. In addition the fridge in the room made frequent noise meaning awaking and not sleeping throughout the night.

Disappointed by this hotel. The website made it look a lot more luxurious than it actually is. After paying the premium for the superior room we received an email promoting a further upgrade. As it was a special occasion we went for it and received an email confirmation that our upgrade was booked. Upon arriving we were informed by the dismissive receptionist that no upgrade was available and ours had been reallocated due to demand but that it was “ok as no payment had been taken”. At no point had I been sent an invoice for taking the upgrade nor was I ever pointed towards a payment process in advance but having received a confirmation and no word of a cancellation, I felt comfortable it would all be settled upon arrival. The reception had a very much “couldn’t care less” attitude but we decided not to let it sour our stay and went up to our “superior” room. The room was spacious and with a large window and clean bathroom. BUT it was very tatty and not in any way reflective of the images on the website. The carpet was disgusting with stains all over, and the furniture was shabby. The bed linen was clean but there was a rather suspicious stain on the headboard. Minimal effort towards extra touches in the room (a very stingy tea/ coffee tray) and considering the disgusting carpet disposable slippers could have at least been provided. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the breakfast staff were welcoming and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. Although the entry to the breakfast/ bar area from the lift was a bit confusing due a screen placed directly in front of the doors to separate the “executive area” (which was little more than a few roped off tables from the regular bar) and twice we saw people become confused and assume the bar was closed. In summary, convenient location and offered the standard of breakfast you’d expect from a large hotel, but in our view this hotel did not represent value for money and if you’re looking for a treat for your holiday, I’d look elsewhere. In the end we were glad we hadn’t paid for the “upgrade” and added insult to injury.
