I stayed for 5 nights for the London marathon as part of a running travel company package deal. I have stayed in London several times in the past, generally choosing locations away from tourist areas rather than in the heart of the action. This location is easily accessible by the underground and in a very lively area close to theatres. The staff at the front desk were amazing and accommodated my early arrival with a much needed early check-in following a long journey. A good size room for this location with a mini fridge which I always desire when travelling for races. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by for fueling options. Also close to St James Park for training runs and an easy walk after crossing the finish line.
Our family of 4 did 6-night stay during July. What we loved: - Location: Great location and always felt safe. Close to the Underground and walking distance to many of the tourist sites. - Staff: Customer service was stellar. Check-in/out was very easy. Housekeeping did an amazing job keeping our room clean during our stay. Restaurant personnel were friendly and attentive. - Room Climate Control: excellent thermostat which kept the room at a very stable temperature. - Water pressure: Shower and sink water pressure was excellent. What can be improved: - Room Furnishings: Room felt dated. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. Bathroom room sinks had stains. - Breakfast: Buffet was very disappointing. The eggs were very undercooked the first day we were there. It got a little better as the week went on. We ended up ordering fresh cooked eggs from the menu. Avoid the coffee. The upside were the croissants were delicious which is all we all ended up eating.
Staying at this hotel definitely comes with pros and cons. Pros - great location ! You are in the heart of Leicester Square and completely submerged in the heart of London with great accessibility to stations and big tourist locations. Concierge staff were also amazing! Any issues we had they were able to fix such as us switching rooms and extending our stay. Cons - room service is not great. They advertise 24/7 food and the menu is small. That was not the issue it was unfortunately how the food was presented as they had limited stock and the food came completely burned and crisps were stale. Once again the concierge was amazing and took it off our bill. You are paying the amount you pay for the location of being in the heart of London. If you’re planning to just use the room to sleep and shower this hotel is perfect for that however I would not stay here again and would look at other spots in the area as for us it did not feel it was worth the money.
