Radisson Blu Hotel Schwarzer Bock Wiesbaden

I love visiting Germany, even if it's for only a few days like this recent visit. Wiesbaden was my city of choice this time and Radisson Blu Schwatzer Bock was my hotel of choice. Both were great decisions. Wiesbaden is a nice and surprisingly quiet city and this hotel was perfect for my stay in town. The front desk staff was super helpful in accommodating me with an early check-in... I mean a super early check-in. The room was clean and in good order. The location was perfect for checking out the whole area on foot. Overall, my stay has been great and this hotel has checked all my boxes and is one that I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Wiesbaden.

Location, location, location... and Schwarzer Bock has oodles of it! It may be one of the old great hotels, or -rather- it probably was. It all feels a bit dated now. The room was clean enough, but could do with an upgrade. There's the normal amenities (coffee, bottled water, safe) and soap/shampoo in the bathroom. Breakfast was very decent, with the possibility of sitting outside in the courtyard on warm mornings. Service was good (unless you catch the reception staff on a smoke-break, in which case you may need to wait a couple of minutes!). Didn't try the spa (as was told there was an extra charge, now that it's not technically owned by the hotel) nor the bar (was already well entrenched elsewhere by 6pm when it opened!). All in all a decent enough hotel but 4 stars? Not so sure...

Little dated and elevation were old but breakfast was very good and very centrally located to the old town and walking section of town
