Just here for one night. What was good? I found the location close enough to the centre to be convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The bathroom was well equipped and clean, the bed comfortable. Breakfast was OK: the coffee was a let down, which is the core of my breakfast! On the negative, I had to change room as my first was missing a curtain. That's key to keeping the light out in July! The air conditioning was OK but still a bit too warm for me. Overall, it feels a bit tired but if you not looking for luxury, it does it's job. I think good staff can go a long way to compensating for chipped furniture and worn seating!

Unfortunate story of a company/chain not reinvesting in its own refurbishment. You can tell this hotel is at end of life either due to over saturation of hotels or just management/owners not caring. It hit me right off the bat when I walked in and the reception was using phones from the stone age, not a huge deal because if it works why replace it seems like they treat the rest of the hotel with the same moto Gym - closed down don't bother assuming they saw it as too expensive to upkeep Rooms - bed and shower is fantastic but the rest of the room has these problems. 1. Carpet staining they can hire carpet cleaners but there's deep marks in these carpets and curtains. 2. Staining on wall paint not sure if dirt grime or other but the paints basically falling off 3. Clearly people who have smoked in the room and they haven't cleaned the furniture out as there's yellowing on the lamp posts 4. The door locks broken in and in my mind I keep saying hopefully this wasn't done by force Don't get me wrong if this was a 2 star or 3 star hotel I'd be like it's old but can still go. But I would never in my life rate this a 4 star chain. Breakfast - sorely disappointed I've eaten at holiday inns that are miles better. One thing I will say though the benefit is the coffee is good good place to sleep but not worth much else. Probably don't pay over £60 per night could find somewhere better

The air conditioning wasn’t working and the windows are sealed, so it was a very uncomfortable stay during a particularly hot week, and no fridge in the room. Cooked breakfast was fine, but fruit options were disappointing . Staff were friendly and did their best, the issues not being their fault. I hadn’t read the reviews before my stay which was booked by my employer, but it seems that people have been complaining for months about certain issues such as the air conditioning not working, and clearly no action has been taken to address customer concerns.
