The location and staff are really great here. The only knock is other reviews say this hotel has air conditioning and we were there during a warm weekend and there was no AC at all. It was 85 F/30 C and the windows barely open so we were incredibly hot and there was no air flow at all. Maybe other rooms have AC but certainly not ours. I would recommend this location at least makes fans available but really air conditioning should be available for when the temperature requires it. Besides that, the hotel is very solid and the staff is friendly and helpful. We had no other problems and would consider a stay here during a cooler time period.
Before I explain my 2 stars on room, let me say we enjoyed our stay. PERFECT location! Nice hotel! Excellent breakfast, dining room and bar! Customer service was very good. Bed was very comfortable even the pillows. Room was nice, roomy, above average. No air conditioning though. We left windows open until we went to sleep and were fine, end of July. The only issue with the room was the bathtub. Although bathroom was great, nice amenities, well designed, the bathtub was a MAJOR hazzard. My wife and I, both 67, under 200 lbs., decent physical condition. You have to step up 2' to get into tub. Grab the grab bars. The inside is beautifully contoured, but this only leaves about 14" wide of flat bottom which is very slippery. Just turning around is a challange without holding on. We both slipped several times. This is not the hotels fault, but the designers fault. For larger people or less mobile/physically fit, showering could be extremely challanging.
I’ve stayed at this hotel around five times — it used to be a reliable choice, but this last visit was an absolute disaster. Sadly, it will also be my last. From the moment we checked in, things went wrong. The room hadn’t been cleaned — the bed looked like someone had already slept in it. That’s not just unpleasant, it’s unacceptable. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful. On the first morning, I asked for a firmer mattress and different pillows because the one provided was painfully soft — my back was in agony. I was told someone would take care of it… but no one ever came. No one followed up, and nothing was done. The second night, I had to sleep on the floor just to avoid more pain. Yes — the floor, in a hotel I trusted and had returned to multiple times. The room was never cleaned. When I asked why, I was told: “This is Scandinavia — we clean every other day.” That’s simply not true. I had just stayed in a hotel in Oslo (same Radisson brand), where rooms were cleaned daily and the minibar restocked. This explanation was both inaccurate and dismissive. A front desk staff member promised to escalate the issue and get back to me — but at checkout, the next shift had no idea what I was talking about. No follow-up. No apology. No ownership. I came expecting care, comfort, and professionalism — I got none of it. What used to be a dependable hotel is now completely off my list.
