From the moment we arrived, the hospitality and warmth of the staff made us feel truly welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and every staff member we interacted with was courteous, professional, and eager to assist. The room was immaculate, well-appointed, and offered every comfort we could wish for. Housekeeping maintained the highest standards, and every detail — from the fresh linens to the thoughtful amenities — reflected true care. The food at the hotel was simply outstanding, with a variety of delicious options that catered to every taste. The service at the restaurant was equally impressive, with staff going above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. What truly set this hotel apart was the genuine attention to detail and the personalized care given to guests. Every request was met with a smile and handled promptly, making our stay not just comfortable, but memorable. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and exceptional service!
It was really disappointing. The check-in time was 2:00, but when we arrived, it was around 3:45. The room was not ready yet. We got a room about 20 minutes later. It was not the room I booked. I had booked an ocean view room. I had booked it a few months ago. When I told the receptionist about it, the person there acted as if I had requested a room at that time. They said there was no way they could give us an ocean view room and it would take another hour. They said there were no rooms even though they showed us the rooms online. I agreed to it because if I tried to argue with him, our mood would be ruined. But we got a room in about half an hour. The dinner was also of no quality. We went to dinner which started at 7.30 and it was around 7.45. By then, some of the dishes were already finished. There was no bowl where the soup was. Later, we had to call a waiter to bring a bowl inside. The soup that was available was just a vegetable soup that was given to patients. There was some local food. There was no dessert either. We drank water all night long despite what we ate. Breakfast was the same. It's really not worth the money spent. From what I've seen, the staff is very minimal, so there's no efficient attitude and management. The place is very beautiful but there's no management. We've stayed in many hotels in Colombo and would like to go back. There's no reason to go back to this one.
Radisson Hotel Colombo exemplifies poor service and hospitality and has a shabby building to match. The lack of missing toiletries was unacceptable, and despite repeated calls, we received supplies for only one washroom, with towels arriving late at night. We requested that home service and reception remove the baby crib and provide an extra mattress (even for an additional charge), but we were left waiting indefinitely; they neither fulfilled our request nor denied it. To make matters worse, the elevators were not operational, and one even got stuck in the middle. It’s fortunate that the kids were not in the elevator, as this could have led to a panic situation. The only redeeming feature is the rooftop view of the city and the sea, along with the sea view rooms. However, the room sizes were shockingly small—smaller than what I’ve encountered in UK hotels. Do not be misled by the ratings and glowing reviews; opting for free cancellation is a must. The breakfast options were limited, and there weren’t nearly enough staff to handle the overwhelming number of guests. There are significantly better options available in the city, and I strongly advise you to explore them instead. P.S. I must acknowledge that the manager admitted the shortcomings and charged for only one terrible night while refunding the next two nights. I appreciate his gesture, but this establishment needs serious improvements.
