Railway Motel

Really nice room. Great location. Would have liked a full ironing board for work shirts. Parking was a bit restricted with renovations happening, but I will come back if I am travelling in the area again. I did not rate service high as there was no people interaction. Check in and out all electronic and room access by passcode given in check in. Not a bad thing, just not really high levels of service.

I stayed one night at Railway Hotel on Friday, 27 June 2025 in Room 10, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience after check-out. A staff member called me the next day accusing me of stealing a decorative pillow from the room and said I would be charged $50. I was shocked by the accusation, as we absolutely did not take anything from the room. I asked politely if they could re-check the room, but the staff refused and said it had already been reset for the next guest. There was no investigation, no evidence, just a one-sided assumption based on their internal checklist. What made the situation worse was how the staff spoke to us on the phone. At first, I stayed calm, but the tone from the staff was aggressive and disrespectful. Instead of handling it professionally, we were talked over and blamed without any chance to properly explain ourselves. Then they claimed we were the rude ones — which was very frustrating. We were simply there for a snowboarding trip and had no reason to take a pillow. Being unfairly charged, treated with suspicion, and spoken to so poorly left us very disappointed. I’ve stayed in many motels and hotels and never had an experience like this before. I don’t recommend this place based on the way they handled the situation and their lack of professionalism.

Terrible Experience - Don’t Stay Here! This used to be my go-to spot for years, but I’ll never come back after my last visit. The experience was beyond awful. If you’re bringing a bike, think again. They make you leave it in an insecure room that feels like anyone could walk in and take it. On top of that, the rooms are ridiculously hard to access, with a maze of stairs. The overall vibe of the place has gone downhill, and it’s clear they don’t care about their guests anymore. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to stay. This place is not good.
