I was disappointed with the food to start with, we had a conference there and the food was substandard it's like all the dishes they just boiled everything. No spice no flavour. The ranges for starch were limited, food ran out
Had to change rooms as the one I was in had a malfunctioning aircon, and a door that didn't lock from the outside. Otherwise rooms are good size and bathrooms are ok too. Some staff try their best to be of service. Breakfast is 'monitored' in that the chef dishes out some of the cooked food for you, reminded me of living at res! Breakfast is a wide variety and is usually good. There's transport services provided by their subsidiary, if required, but be prepared to pay upfront. If you need a hairdryer, bring your own, they either have ones that don't work or they don't have any available. I cannot determine in which galaxy this place earned its 5 stars.
Not accommodating to all backgrounds as a hotel should I stayed for one day one night because my flight was cancelled On the first day I had no issues but on the second day as I had seems as I had no luggage I was still in the same clothes I was constantly harassed by the customer relations manager and employees that she sent to me to harass me about my dress she was saying that it was revealing, however, you could not even see cleavage or my boobs and you could not even see my bum I asked if there was a dress code policy And she said that they just have a right of admissions and not a dress code policy and that they don’t have to have one However, if you’re going to restrict someone access and freedom from staying in the hotel you should therefore have a dress code policy so that you have the right to tell someone that they cannot have free freedom in the hotel or they can no longer stay there as they were doing My rights & freedom was taken from me in the absence of a dress code policy. The manager failed to apply policies appropriately and therefore discriminated against me. If what I was wearing was really an issue on the first day the matter would’ve been addressed and not on the second day. Hyatt Regency harare clearly has a dress code policy , if you even go on the website it’s there unlike rainbow towers so if you go there and you’re obviously wearing things listed on the dress code policy they have the right to tell you that you cannot enter the hotel or stay at the hotel but rainbow towers has does not so I do not understand why I was treated the way that I was to the point that I had to call a lawyer. I was so frustrated I honestly wanted take this further but I just feel like it’s a complete waste of time because I don’t even live in the country. All in all such poor service, if you want to exert your power over people put policies in place and apply them appropriately don’t just go around being bossy with nothing to back you because one day you’ll get served.
