The rooms definitely need to be renovated. I slept without turning on the air conditioner because of the noise of the air conditioner. This is not acceptable for an 80€ room. The staff was friendly and my room was clean.

A thoroughly disappointing stay. The hotel is marketed as a 4-star establishment with prices to match, but the service and conditions fall far short of that standard. I mistakenly booked for one adult instead of two—though I reserved a room with two beds, clearly indicating we were two people. Upon arrival, reception demanded an additional guest fee. I explained the error and asked whether the total price would have been the same had I booked correctly from the start. The receptionist claimed it would, though I doubt the charge would have been as high. At the time, I hadn’t yet paid—she could have simply corrected the reservation internally. We ended up paying 680 BGN for three nights. Breakfast was another issue. The in-room guest information stated that breakfast was “available” for all guests. My boyfriend went to eat, provided our room number, was initially let in, and then was chased away mid-meal by staff insisting breakfast wasn’t included. He was treated rudely and asked to leave. Pool usage required swim caps, so we purchased two for 10 BGN, only to find no one else wearing them and staff not enforcing the rule. The rooms and bathrooms were outdated, pool towels were stained, the minibar was empty and served only as a weak fridge. Only positives were the location and the doormen, who were consistently polite and helpful. Everything else undermined the high price and advertised quality.

This hotel is situated in a beautiful classic building and offers the best location for access to downtown. However, the hotel rooms are generally rundown, with mold and broken fixtures. The air conditioner is loud and ineffective, leaving the room luke warm at best on a hot day. The hotel manager lacks professionalism and doesn’t even speak Bulgarian, which is an embarrassment for Ramada and an insult to Bulgarians. There are much better options for the same money in newer hotels like the Hilton down the street or in private accommodations. Hopefully, this hotel will fall into the hands of professional management who can restore it to its former glory!
