Our stay at Ramada was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences we’ve ever had. We booked a room specifically for two adults and two children, providing the correct ages during reservation. Upon arrival, the hotel had incorrectly processed it as two adults and two infants. Despite admitting this seemed to be a system error (as another family traveling with us faced the exact same issue on their separate booking), they refused to check us in unless we paid an additional $425. We had no choice but to pay. To make matters worse, after charging us for the “required upgrade” to a deluxe sea view room, they informed us that no such room was available for the first two nights. We only received the room we paid for on the third day. The poor treatment didn’t end there: • When I asked for a place to feed our children while resolving the check-in issue, the front desk told us we couldn’t eat in the lobby and instead suggested we feed them outside in a dark patio—because we “weren’t paid guests” yet. • Requests for basic amenities were met with unhelpful responses: we were told they had run out of extra blankets, and water was limited to two small bottles per day for a family of four. • Even after we upgraded, the bathroom in our new room smelled terrible. When we reported it, the staff simply said, “The smell will go away.” Ramada also charges for every little thing—€3 for a plate, €3 for cutlery, €3 for a glass. You’re not allowed to bring or eat your own food anywhere on the property, not even at the unused free tables in the lobby. Throughout our stay, the front desk staff was consistently rude and seemed annoyed to help guests, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. To be fair, there were a couple of positives: the swimming pool was nice, and the hotel offers unique access to the ocean (not a beach, but an interesting feature). Overall, the negatives far outweighed the positives. The combination of hidden fees, false advertising, and unprofessional staff made this a place we will never return to—and I strongly urge other travelers to reconsider before booking here.
This was one of the most frustrating and disappointing hotel stays we’ve ever had. Even though we had booked a room for two guests, the hotel did not register it that way, and the second guest was forced to pay an extra fee just to stay in the room. After reading other reviews, we saw that this exact issue had happened to other guests as well – clearly not an isolated case. We asked to switch from all-inclusive to half board, hoping for flexibility. Instead, we were told, flatly and without reason, that it was not possible. The cleanliness was unacceptable. The room was not properly cleaned when we arrived, and housekeeping during the stay was inconsistent at best. On some days, no one came at all, despite the “please clean” sign being on the door since 7 AM. When they did show up, they threw away personal papers left on the table– clearly not trash. The staff barely spoke English, which made dealing with even basic issues difficult – especially when it came to communicating food allergies. We asked for an extra blanket and received a thin sheet. One day the toilet got clogged, and we had to go to reception three times before anyone came to fix it. The restaurant was disorganized: drinks were often unavailable or wrong, cutlery was missing, and we constantly had to chase down staff just to get what should have already been there. Meals were just “okay” at best – but breakfast was exactly the same for all six days, and if you don’t eat fish or are vegan, you’ll quickly grow tired of repetitive chicken and turkey dishes. To make things worse, the airport transfer provided by the hotel was more than double the cost of an Uber, which feels like an intentional rip-off rather than a convenience. At checkout, we were handed an incorrect invoice, listing a much lower total than what we had paid. When we asked for clarification, the staff was passive-aggressive and unprofessional, acting bothered rather than simply explaining the discrepancy. The only things this hotel has going for it are the nice sea view, the uncrowded private beach and pool, and a decent gym (by hotel standards). Unfortunately, none of that makes up for the lack of organization, poor service, or the staff’s arrogant and indifferent attitude. Worst of all? We’re not alone. After reading more reviews, it’s clear that these same problems happen over and over – and nothing is being done to address them. Avoid this hotel if you care about your time, your wallet, or your sanity.
The cleanliness was disappointing despite us raising the issue. The housekeeping staff did a poor job and seemed uninterested. In contrast, some of the service staff were highly motivated and did their best to provide a pleasant experience. The reception staff at check-in were not very welcoming, which gave a poor first impression. We booked a side sea view room and were placed on the 3rd floor, but only a small part of the sea was visible. On the plus side, we got to experience more of the local life—don’t forget to wave at Uncle Ahmet! If you do choose this hotel, definitely request a higher floor to enjoy a better sea view and a bit more privacy. Some of the food was tasty, but the variety was limited and became repetitive after a few days. The ice cream was unfortunately very poor.
